Voltron Volume 8 (Vehicle Force) - April 28, 2009

Jeff and the Voltron Force find themselves in a very different world from where they started. Their arch-enemy, Hazar, has been imprisoned by Drule High Command. The remaining Drule forces are split in a civil war, and their home planet is about to explode! Hawkins and the Galaxy Alliance try to negotiate as Voltron is slammed with attack after attack from the desperate Drules. Their mission is to rescue the Drule people and save them from self-destruction. But how can the Voltron force save the day while under fire from the very civilization they are struggling to save?

The Looney, Looney, Looney Bugs Bunny Movie! - April 28, 2009

Things start out plenty looney as Yosemite Sam strikes a Devilish bargain to send Bugs straight to you-know-where! The looniness continues as Daffy and Tweety tangle with a pair of feather-brained bird-napping gangsters. And in the even loonier finale, Bugs turns Hollywood's glitziest awards ceremony into a cartoon-star-studded disast-hare zone! A fabulous, 24-carrot tour de farce from animation legend Friz Freleng! Also includes for the first time on DVD the shorts "Pullet Surprise," "From Hare To Eternity," and "Box Office Bunny."

I can't find a clip for this one. If you find one, please comment and I'll edit it in. :)

More DVD News - Transformers, Snoopy
We have some exciting Transformers news! We also are glad to report a very special Peanuts release tomorrow!!!

Transformers: The Complete 1st Season: 25th Anniversary Edition - June 16, 2009

You've probably already heard about the June release date. But the real news now is that the episodes were "restored to the original broadcast versions with a new stereo soundtrack created from the original audio"! I'm sure a lot of you fans saw the CerealGeek editorial on the earlier release with side-by-side comparisons of the original broadcast show and the "remastered" versions, with all the differences and flaws therein. For those of you disappointed by that one, there is now this new set, which promises to truly bring your childhood back to you, in all their original broadcast glory!

Snoopy's Reunion (Remastered Deluxe Edition) - April 7, 2009

This is a single DVD with two Snoopy-centered specials. The first shows all of Snoopy's siblings gathering where they were born and gives more insight into our favorite Beagle. The second is a musical special on DVD for the first time: Flashbeagle! It's flashdancing disco Snoopy! Who didn't love that? This DVD is about 50 minutes long.

First, I have to mention that there's also a very special collector's edition of the complete The Real Ghostbusters. That's priced for the real collectors at $180. For the rest of us, there's the normal box set. The first of the normal sets is Volume 1, containing 5 discs. The set contains two sets of season one episodes, the first being the 13 episodes aired on ABC and the second 17 of which were episodes released in syndication. There are three hours of bonus material included.

In this classic, young Esteban, a Spanish orphan, joins a party of Spaniards on their way to the New Word in search of the legendary Cities of Gold. Along the way, they meet fascinating people, discover the technological wonders of the Maya, Inca, and Olmec civilizations, and try to keep one step ahead of the greedy Gomez and Gaspard. This release includes the entire series. The deluxe version contains numerous extras, both on disc and in postcard, poster, and booklet form.

Smurfs Season 1, Vol. 1 - Now Available

Yes, this one was released in 2008, however I wanted to mention it in light of the somewhat disappointing 2009 Smurf DVD release. The latest release is simply a single DVD with a few selected episodes rather than part of a season collection. For you serious Smurfs lovers, the one above is the set to get rather than the latest release, which just has a few Peewee and Johan episodes and very little of Gargamel.
